In 2023, 3d Dental Battalion/U.S. Naval Dental Center Okinawa underwent a major change with the deactivation of U.S. Naval Dental Center Okinawa. 3d Dental Battalion’s primary mission shifted fully towards operational dental readiness and humanitarian mission support. While assigned to 3d Dental Battalion, I took on the task of rebranding the command to reflect the new name and mission priority. This new visual identity celebrates the Ryukyuan culture of Okinawa and the history and heritage of the joint Navy and Marine Corps partnership. The goal of the new logo was to instill morale and esprit de corps among Sailors attached to 3d Dental Battalion past, present, and future.
