Northway Rapid Rail (NRR) is a concept regional commuter rail system that would serve the Lower Adirondacks and Capital Region in Upstate New York. Stations would be located in cities & towns with larger populations and popular destinations such as Albany Airport, local universities, and entertainment venues and in cities & towns with connections to other rail and bus systems. A major public transportation project like this will probably never come to fruition due to funding and the area being heavily car-centric, but it’s a good idea to dream about. NRR has three lines with names connecting to local history;
